BlogBack in 2004, this is how my day went – my sun rose at 7.30.  If coffee was not ready in the next 10 minutes, I had a template of the choicest of words which I would cut, copy & paste on my family.

Office was fun. My staff and I played the I Spy game. If anyone was spied on, I would cut, copy & paste the choicest of templates I had in store for each of them.

After a hard day’s work of I Spy, I would come home and play the victim-persecutor game. At times I was the persecutor, sometimes I switched roles and became the victim.

Life was Good.

I was like the hungry mad man, who would grab the food & greedily proceed to put it in his mouth. When he was about to put it in his mouth, he would pick up the phone. Just as he was about to make a call, he chance on a newspaper article. Just before he could complete two lines, he would chance upon the T.V program.

Does that remind you of someone very close to you?

Studies reveal that human attention span has reduced from 12 seconds to 8 seconds. Scientists say that we have the attention span of a Goldfish.

That is an INSULT ….. ……… to the Gold fish.

How do we train this reactive mind?

A man was sitting on one side of the river bank. Festivities were going on in the other side. The man started to cry. I want to go to the other side.

But to go to the other side you need a bridge, if not a boat.

The journey to the other side may be challenging. The MIND may not agree to accompany you. It may protest.

A deep surgical operation is required. Removing the tumor is painful. A lot of puss may come out.

In Durgapur, during my early childhood, my mother used to cook in the CHULA (a urn made of mud) in which hot charcoals were kept. After cooking was over, my sister & I entertained ourselves by slowly pouring water over the coals. Sound of PHUS, PHUS would come out. That was good, for it indicated that the flames were being put off.

In the same way, this 41 day challenge would bring a lot of PHUS out of REACTIVE mind.

Remember, the MIND is being put off.

When did you last have a PHUS  feeling? Please share.
